Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- Events that you registered to attend, or we think might be of interest to you
- To request support or advice around doing research
- To allow you to participate in training
- Through sign up to our mailing list
- For feedback on our services
- Participating in steering groups and working groups to support the delivery of our business plan
We use the information you have given us to manage your attendance at meetings and events, to provide support and advice about research, offer training, share our news with you and to ask for feedback on our services.
We may share this information with our team, who are based across the UK at:

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:
(a) Your consent to be on our mailing list and for images at our events. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting Alex Rodger, communications manager nihr.rss.publichealth@newcastle.ac.uk
(b) We need it to perform a public task. We do not pass any personal information on, but we report annually to National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), part of Department for Health and Social Care.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
